Protecting Your NYC Water from the Watershed to the Faucet

Main Logo

New Yorkers know that their tap water is some of the best in the world. Food & Water Watch is dedicated to making sure it stays that way.

We are working with city government officials and local institutions to rid their institutions of bottled water and ensure that public water fountains are upgraded and maintained. In addition, restaurants are being encouraged to sign a pledge to switch to serving only municipal tap water and help educate customers about the benefits of tap over bottled water. Some restaurants have already joined the movement.

Restaurateurs:

Are you the manager or owner of a restaurant and would like to be added to our list? Commit to serving New York’s great tap water by signing the Take Back the Tap Restaurant Pledge or tell us your story here.

Health Conscious Diners and Residents:

Did you know that according to a Natural Resources Defense Council study of 103 bottled water brands, about one quarter of the brands tested contained bacterial or chemical contamination in some samples?

Learn more about why you want to kick the bottled water habit.
